Brief info
Laura Boccadoro (she/they) has worked within the nonprofit world for the last 5 and a half years, through the New Haven Pride Center. She works primarily in Communications, Marketing, and special events management. Laura also is a former board member of Stamford Pride, and volunteers with the Reach Fund as a social media volunteer.
The New Haven queer community is near and dear to Laura’s heart, as it is where they embraced their queerness and found purpose again. She moved to New Haven in 2015 to pursue a degree in Political Science at Quinnipiac University.
Laura’s passion is driven by her past experiences with mental health challenges, addiction, unemployment, and houselessness. They are an advocate for recovery of all kinds, gender diversity, homelessness, and providing a safe space for queer folks. She prides herself in her ability to connect to others, listen, and not judge. She wants to continue to build a space for queer folks to be able to obtain the resources they need to live a full life and thrive.
