Volunteers are the heartbeat of the Center
Throughout the year, over 100 volunteers from the Greater New Haven and beyond bring the Center to life. Join the group of passionate individuals who volunteer their time to support our community engagement activities, support services, programming, and fundraising events.
You can make a difference and be a part of the work by:
- Welcome Table: Be the first face community members see, welcome folks into our space, and help them navigate
- NHPC Food Pantry Organizer: Help stock and organize our community pantry to provide essential resources to those in need.
- Homework Help for LGBTQ+ Youth: Make a difference by tutoring and supporting our youth with their schoolwork.
- Warm Line Support: Provide compassionate listening and resource navigation for individuals who call our warm line seeking support.
- Community Closet Organizer: Assist in organizing and maintaining our community closet, which offers clothing and hygiene products to individuals in need.
- Tabling at community events and programs such as pride festivals
- Welcoming the community at Center events
- Volunteering at New Haven Pride – one of Connecticut’s larger pride events
- Attending our special events, whether it be social or educational programming, and other small fundraisers
- Joining our fundraising team to help sustain and grow the Center into the future
- Join our Peer Mentor Program and support an LGBTQ+ youth
